The Nordic Ritualistic Marking Ceremony

The ways and practices as they may have been done by our ancestors in Scandinavia & the Isles before they were banned and forgotten.

An ongoing journey that continuously takes me deeper into my practice and understanding of the power and medicine of the ritual of giving and receiving tattoo or marking of the skin in more ritualistic ways than generally practiced today.

MY WORK

No ceremony looks the same, as it will always be setting its roots in what story and intentions the individual brings to the ceremony.

Your design / symbol will always be created personally for you, based on your wishes and intentions, interweaving with the ceremony that will always be anchored in those intentions and held in a space, set on, Nordic pre Christian traditions and in honouring of ancestors, elders and spirits of the lands. It’s a space created for you to go into deep work with your intentions, holding whatever may be shown, from deep peace and relief, to anger or grief and everything in between. Whatever may come up is welcomed and held in an unwavering space of safety, for you to be with and move through everything and all that may show.

And through the work with my clients, I have become a firm believer of that the intentionally created symbol marked in ritual ways, holds a medicine and power to offer something deeper to the human, to heal and change lives forever.

In Scandinavia and Northern Europe especially we have a broken connection and collective amnesia regarding our pre Christian cultures and traditions. They were banned, punished, tortured and killed out of our ancestors, our awareness and memory.

Although forgotten it’s not lost. A deeper remembering lives in our bones. A remembering of the days and ways we used to live our lives, aligned and connected to nature and in understanding of the importance of and ritual and ceremony as a natural part of our lives. From birth to death and everything inbetween.
